Basketball Game Preview: Conestoga Christian Cougars vs. Linville Hill Warriors

The Conestoga Christian Cougars will square off against the Linville Hill Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Conestoga Christian's defense has only allowed 24 points per game this season, so Linville Hill's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Conestoga Christian is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Lancaster County Christian just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They took a 42-30 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lions. The loss was the Cougars' first of the season.

Meanwhile, Linville Hill put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They really took it to High Point Baptist Academy for the full four quarters, racking up a 55-24 win. With that victory, the Warriors brought their scoring average up to 51 points per game.

Linville Hill had a senior duo take command as Desiree Smucker almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine steals and Ellie Rishel made all 6 shots she took racking up 13 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. That's the most steals Smucker has posted since back in January. The team also got some help courtesy of Courtney Good, who posted nine points.

Linville Hill pushed their record up to 5-0 with the win, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 24.2 points per game. As for Conestoga Christian, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Conestoga Christian took a serious blow against Linville Hill in their previous meeting back in January, falling 55-12. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Conestoga Christian was down 34-10.
