Basketball Recap: Riverview Skates Past Frazier with Ease

Riverview had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Frazier Commodores 66-34. With the Raiders ahead 40-14 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Riverview got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Lily Bauer out in front who almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine boards. Bauer is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Isabel Chaparro was another key player, going 7 for 12 en route to 21 points.

Riverview smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in three consecutive games.

Despite the loss, Frazier still got an impressive performance from Allie Yauch, who posted 25 points and eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Malana Burton, who had six points and 12 boards.

Riverview's record is now 10-3. As for Frazier, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-10.

Riverview will face off against Apollo Ridge at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Riverview is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50 points per game this season. As for Frazier, they will square off against Winchester Thurston at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Winchester Thurston will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Frazier surely won't give up without a fight.
