Soccer Game Preview: Cordova vs. Kennedy

The Cordova Lancers will challenge the Kennedy Cougars at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Cordova is headed into Thursday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Tuesday. They came up short against McClatchy, falling 6-0. While losing is never fun, the Lancers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 751st, while the Lions are ranked 205th).

Meanwhile, Kennedy fell victim to Antelope and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They lost 3-0 to the Titans. Considering the last time the Cougars couldn't score was back in December of 2024, the team can't take the result too hard.

Kennedy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2-4. As for Cordova, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.
