Softball Recap: American Leadership Academy-Johnston Wins Going Away Against Ravenscroft

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Grace Christian, American Leadership Academy-Johnston was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Ravenscroft Ravens as American Leadership Academy-Johnston made off with a 21-1 victory. The game marked the Patriots' most dominant win of the season so far.

Amelia Brown made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 11 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and not a single walk). Brown was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with four RBI and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Makayla Cooke was a standout: she scored four runs while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Addison Cooke was another key player, scoring four runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

American Leadership Academy-Johnston was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .391. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ravenscroft only posted a batting average of .100.

American Leadership Academy-Johnston's record is now 4-5. As for Ravenscroft, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6.

Looking ahead, American Leadership Academy-Johnston is taking a road trip to take on Fike at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Ravenscroft, it'll be a Battle of the Birds when Ravenscroft Ravens take on GRACE Christian Eagles at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. GRACE Christian will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Ravenscroft surely won't give up without a fight.
