Basketball Recap: Point Arena Beats Mendocino for Their Ninth Straight Win

Point Arena had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26 points) and they went ahead and made it nine on Tuesday. They walked away with a 66-55 victory over the Mendocino Cardinals. The Pirates pushed the score to 55-35 by the end of the third, a deficit the Cardinals cut but never quite recovered from.

Point Arena's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jayde Swan, who posted 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Giselle Mejia Fuentes, who earned 13 points.

Point Arena has been performing well recently as they've won 12 of their last 15 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.7 points per game. As for Mendocino, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-8.
