Football Recap: Homer-Center Comes Up Short

If Homer-Center was riding high fresh off their 38-14 takedown of Penns Manor last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Wildcats were dealt a 31-3 loss at the hands of the River Valley Panthers on Friday. The contest marked the Wildcats' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Carson Arone threw for 201 yards on 19 of 28 attempts. Deegan Fedoruk was his top target, picking up 90 receiving yards.

Leading River Valley to victory were Jake Woodring and Brody Hutter. Woodring rushed for 73 yards and two TDs, while Hutter rushed for 87 yards and a pair of scores on only 12 carries.

Homer-Center's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for River Valley, they pushed their record up to 4-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Homer-Center didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 14-0 win against Purchase Line on the 26th. As for River Valley, they have also already played their next contest, a 10-7 victory against United Valley co-op [Blacklick Valley/United] on the 26th.
