Basketball Game Preview: Southwest EC Eagles vs. Brawley Wildcats

Southwest EC is headed into Thursday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Monday. They fell 40-28 to Calipatria. The game was a 15-15 toss-up at halftime, but the Eagles couldn't quite close it out.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Brawley). They claimed a resounding 71-38 win over Holtville. Winning may never get old, but the Wildcats sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Brawley's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-11. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.3 points per game. As for Southwest EC, their loss dropped their record down to 3-18.

Southwest EC was taken down by Brawley 65-32 in their previous meeting two weeks ago. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Brawley's Bre Montano, who posted 22 points and eight boards.
