Kennesaw Mountain won the last time they faced Wheeler and things went their way on Saturday too. The Kennesaw Mountain Mustangs were the clear victor by a 15-5 margin over the Wheeler Wildcats. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Mustangs.

Austin Carter was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits (and only one walk). Carter was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, Isander Poventud was incredible, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. What's more, he also posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. Jackson Dietz was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

Kennesaw Mountain's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Wheeler, their defeat was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kennesaw Mountain will square off against Paulding County at 5:55 p.m. on February 24th. As for Wheeler, they will take on Hiram at 5:55 p.m. on Wednesday.
