Basketball Recap: Hollidaysburg Skates Past Penns Valley Area with Ease

Hollidaysburg waltzed into their game on Monday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Penns Valley Area Rams 77-38. The Golden Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 26 points or more this season.

Despite the loss, Penns Valley Area saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Sydnie Dalton posted nine points. Elle Dinges was another key player, putting up six points.

Hollidaysburg pushed their record up to 8-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.8 points per game. As for Penns Valley Area, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season.

Hollidaysburg will take on Central at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Penns Valley Area, they will challenge Bald Eagle Area at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Bald Eagle Area has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
