Recap: Beyer Patriots vs. Johansen Vikings
The Beyer Patriots's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their seventh straight loss. They fell 63-54 to Johansen. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Beyer in their matchups with Johansen: they've now lost five in a row.
Johansen was led to victory by Bethany Albarran and Jamie Zarilla. Albarran dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds, while Zarilla dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. Zarilla is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least three every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Brenda Constancio, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and two blocks.
Beyer dropped their record down to 4-20 with that defeat, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Johansen, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-12.
Beyer will be playing at home against Pacheco at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Pacheco focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 39 last Thursday. As for Johansen, they will head out on the road to challenge Grace Davis at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Johansen focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Tuesday.
