Soccer Game Preview: Academy of Our Lady of Peace vs. Point Loma

The Academy of Our Lady of Peace Pilots will be defending their home pitch for the first time this season when they go up against the Point Loma Pointers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Academy of Our Lady of Peace is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.6 goals per game this season.

Point Loma better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if last week is any indication, that's when Academy of Our Lady of Peace really get things going. Academy of Our Lady of Peace never let La Jolla onto the board and left with a 4-0 win on Wednesday. The result kept the Pilots happy, as they haven't lost a game since December 13, 2024.

They hit La Jolla with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Capri Reyes, Paula Mier Y Teran Leon, Rosalyn Wisniew-Colwell, and Sienna Comana.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Point Loma, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They skirted past Patrick Henry 2-1. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Pointers' disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 385th, while the Patriots are ranked 35th).

Point Loma's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-4. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored eight goals over those three matchups. As for Academy of Our Lady of Peace, their victory bumped their record up to 8-1-2.
