Football Recap: Lark Anderson Key Part of Team Effort in Mustangs Win + How To Watch

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Blue Valley Northwest, Blue Valley North was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They took down the Shawnee Mission North Bison 28-13. The victory continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Bison: they've now won four in a row.

Blue Valley North's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Lark Anderson, who rushed for 58 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 61 yards and one TD. That's the most rushing touchdowns Anderson has posted since back in September of 2024. Blue Valley North also got a significant boost from Kayden Augustus, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 135 yards.

Blue Valley North didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jackson Wood and Liam Butler. Another thorn in Shawnee Mission North's side was Frank Hall, who picked up two sacks and made six total tackles.

The win got Blue Valley North back to even at 1-1. As for Shawnee Mission North, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Blue Valley North will venture away from home to take on Blue Valley Southwest at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Shawnee Mission North, they will head out to square off against Olathe North at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
