Soccer Recap: Riverdale Victorious

Riverdale lost to Mendota back in December of 2023, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Riverdale Cowboys came out on top in a nail-biter against the Mendota Aztecs, sneaking past 2-1. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but the Cowboys were the better team in the second half.

Riverdale's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-4-1. As for Mendota, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4-3.

Riverdale will take on Chavez in a holiday battle at at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Riverdale's last three games have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. Mendota and Mt. Whitney will compete for holiday cheer at 12:45 p.m. on Friday.
