Softball Recap: Gordon Central Takes a Loss

Gordon Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 17-2 to the Model Blue Devils. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Warriors of the 14-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Gordon Central saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Marlee Phipps, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.

Gordon Central's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Model, the win (which was their fifth in a row dating back to last season) raised their record to 3-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gordon Central will host Pepperell at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Dragons have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.2 runs per game on average), something the Warriors will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Model, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Coosa at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
