Basketball Recap: Penn-Trafford Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Penn-Trafford and Thomas Jefferson squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Penn-Trafford had to settle for second. They took a 65-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Thomas Jefferson Jaguars. The Warriors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Jaguars apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Penn-Trafford's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Hanna Weishaar, who went 5-for-11 on her way to 14 points and five boards. Those 14 points gave Weishaar a new career-high. Lauren Marton was another key player, going 6-for-14 en route to 16 points and eight rebounds.

Penn-Trafford's loss dropped their record down to 23-1. As for Thomas Jefferson, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-4.

Looking ahead, Penn-Trafford will host Indiana at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Penn-Trafford knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past ten games -- so hopefully Indiana likes a good challenge. As for Thomas Jefferson, they will challenge Peters Township on Saturday. One thing working in Thomas Jefferson's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four matchups.
