Softball Recap: Bishop McGuinness Takes a Loss + How To Watch

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Monday as neither Bishop McGuinness nor Kingfisher made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Fighting Irish fell just short of the Yellowjackets by a score of 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Fighting Irish have suffered since August 29, 2024.

Bishop McGuinness saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mya Madu - 2027, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI. Lexi Cook - 2029 also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Bishop McGuinness has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 11 of their last 12 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-16 record this season. As for Kingfisher, their victory bumped their record up to 12-4.

Looking ahead, Bishop McGuinness will head out on the road to square off against Bethany at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bronchos' pitching crew has only allowed 2.9 runs per game this season, so the Fighting Irish's hitters will have their work cut out for them. Kingfisher does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
