Softball Recap: McCook Comes Up Short

If McCook was feeling good fresh off their 14-4 takedown of Lexington on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bison lost 12-1 to the Grand Island Central Catholic Crusaders on Saturday. The defeat continues a trend for the Bison in their meetings with the Crusaders: they've now lost five in a row.

Carlie Rupp made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run.

McCook's loss dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Grand Island Central Catholic, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season.

McCook has already played their next game, a 13-0 defeat against St. Cecilia on the 13th. As for Grand Island Central Catholic, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 13-5 loss against Beatrice on the 13th.
