Basketball Game Preview: Moorpark Musketeers vs. Oak Park Eagles

The Moorpark Musketeers will head out on the road to take on the Oak Park Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Moorpark is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.6 points per game this season.

While Moorpark didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-11), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They took down Calabasas 59-45 on Tuesday.

It was another big night for Maya Urteaga, who went 12 for 27 on her way to 30 points in addition to five assists and four steals. Her evening made it nine games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sam Olivas, who posted seven points and six rebounds.

Meanwhile, Oak Park entered their tilt with Granada Hills Charter on Wednesday with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. They were the clear victor by a 70-49 margin over the Highlanders. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 21 points or more this season.

Oak Park's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Moorpark, their victory bumped their record up to 7-2.

Moorpark was dealt a bruising 82-33 defeat at the hands of Oak Park in their previous meeting back in January. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Moorpark was down 43-20.
