Baseball Recap: Pinecrest Academy Takes a Loss

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Pinecrest Academy couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell just short of the Scholars Guild Academy Spartans by a score of 2-1 on Monday. It was the first time this season that the Paladins let down their fans at home.

Pinecrest Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 17-3. As for Scholars Guild Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-8 record this season.

While Pinecrest Academy had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
