Soccer Game Preview: Alexander vs. Lithia Springs

The Alexander Cougars will take on the Lithia Springs Lions at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Lithia Springs is facing Alexander at the wrong time: Alexander suffered their first home loss of the season on Tuesday and they're likely out for redemption. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Trojans. Considering the last time Alexander couldn't score was back in February, the team can't take the result too hard.

Meanwhile, Lithia Springs managed to keep up with Sandy Creek until halftime on Tuesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Lions came up short against the Patriots, falling 4-0.

Lithia Springs dropped their record down to 3-8 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Alexander, their loss dropped their record down to 13-3.

Everything went Alexander's way against Lithia Springs when the teams last played back in February of 2024, as Alexander made off with a 4-0 win. Will the Cougars repeat their success, or do the Lions have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
