Football Game Preview: Hozho Academy Wolves vs. Newcomb Skyhawks + Official Tickets

After each having a week off, the Hozho Academy Wolves and the Newcomb Skyhawks will shake off the rust and duke it out at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Hozho Academy has three straight victories, Newcomb has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Hozho Academy's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed last Saturday. They blew past Cuba 50-0. Considering the Wolves have won three contests by more than 25 points this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Hozho Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brandon Bonaguidi led the charge by rushing for 41 yards, while also throwing for 63 yards and one TD on only five passes.

Meanwhile, Newcomb came up short against McCurdy two weeks ago and fell 30-18.

Hozho Academy's win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Newcomb, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.

Saturday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Hozho Academy has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 154.3 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Newcomb struggles in that department as they've been averaging 215.5 rushing yards. There's a good chance Saturday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.

Hozho Academy didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Newcomb in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, but they still walked away with a 41-36 victory. Will the Wolves repeat their success, or do the Skyhawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
