Basketball Recap: Mission Hills Piles Up the Points Against Poway

You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Mission Hills's strategy against Poway on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Mission Hills Grizzlies blew the Poway Titans out of the water with a 101-21 final score. The Grizzlies have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten contests by 21 points or more this season.

Leading Mission Hills to victory were Hc Harding and Bay Cordova. Harding went 11 of 18 from beyond the arc to rack up 33 points and three steals, while Cordova went 11 for 14 on her way to 23 points in addition to six steals and five assists. Cordova's evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least 17 points. Kendall Nguyen was another key player, putting up eight points and five steals.

They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Mission Hills was working as a unit and finished the game with 22 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Poway only racked up three assists.

Poway's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Emily Farr, who posted four points and six boards.

Mission Hills' win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-8. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 21.7 points over those games. As for Poway, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-18.

Mission Hills has already played their next match, a 62-61 victory against Westview on the 7th. As for Poway, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 72-39 win against Fallbrook on the 7th.
