Football Recap: Eagle Rock Piles Up the Points Against Taft

Eagle Rock won the last time they faced Taft and things went their way on Friday too. The Eagles breezed past the Toreadors to the tune of 56-21. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.

Liam Pasten produced another solid performance throwing for 309 yards and five TDs while completing 89.5% of his passes. Pasten is crushing it when it comes to passing yards: he's passed for at least 309 every time he's taken the field this season. Branden Ruffolo was another key player, picking up 82 receiving yards and three scores.

Eagle Rock was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 269 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Taft's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nathan Swinson, who threw for 245 yards and three touchdowns. Sammy Peery was Swinson's top target, picking up 77 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.

The win got Eagle Rock back to even at 2-2. As for Taft, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.

Coming up, Eagle Rock will head out to take on Marquez at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. After each having a week off, Taft and Granada Hills Charter will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on October 3. This will be the Toreadors' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
