Preview: Holy Redeemer Royals vs. Trinity Shamrocks
The Holy Redeemer Royals and the Trinity Shamrocks will face off at 2:00 p.m. on December 30th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Holy Redeemer has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They fell to Colonie Central 54-49. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Holy Redeemer came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 62nd in Pennsylvania, while Colonie Central is ranked 242nd in New York).
Meanwhile, Trinity took a serious blow against Columbia last Wednesday, falling 57-30. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Trinity in their matchups with Columbia: they've now lost three in a row.
Holy Redeemer's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Trinity, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3.
Holy Redeemer came up short against Trinity when the teams last played back in January of 2019, falling 49-44. Can Holy Redeemer avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
