Basketball Recap: KIPP Legacy Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

KIPP Legacy and Heritage Christian squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but KIPP Legacy had to settle for second. They were outmatched by the Heritage Christian Eagles and fell 69-9. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 396th, while the Eagles are ranked 136th).

Heritage Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Casey Frost led the charge by as she made all 5 shots she took racking up 12 points and three steals. Frost has been hot, having posted three or more steals the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Riley Johnson, who posted 12 points and five steals.

KIPP Legacy now has a losing record at 11-12. As for Heritage Christian, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 12-12.

KIPP Legacy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Heritage Christian, they and Eastern Hancock will face off at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played.
