Basketball Game Preview: Las Lomas Knights vs. Benicia Panthers

The Las Lomas Knights will square off against the Benicia Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Las Lomas took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. They walked away with a 56-46 win over Foothill.

Kimiko Hirahara and Aisha Sandhu were among the main playmakers for Las Lomas as the former posted 18 points and six steals and the latter went 6 for 15 on her way to 18 points. The dominant performance gave Sandhu a new career-high in points. Milla Hansen was another key player, putting up four points and 13 boards.

Meanwhile, Benicia made easy work of Concord on Wednesday and carried off a 44-22 victory. The Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine contests by 20 points or more this season.

Las Lomas now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Benicia, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-6.

Las Lomas came up short against Benicia in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, falling 34-29. Can Las Lomas avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
