Softball Recap: Westover's Win Ends Ten-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Westover's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 19-5 margin over the Sumter County Panthers. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 31-30 last Wednesday.

Savannah Donaldson was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with four runs, two stolen bases, and five RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in September of 2024. Timeria Neal was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI.

Westover always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .605. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Westover's victory ended a ten-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-2. As for Sumter County, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 2-2.

Looking ahead, Westover will challenge Valdosta at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday. As for Sumter County, they will square off against Monroe at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
