Monroe had won three straight games and Jamir Jackson did his part to make it four on Friday. The Redhawks strolled past the Mount Pleasant Tigers with points to spare, taking the game 39-21 thanks in part to Jackson, who rushed for 146 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 15 carries. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 102.8 rushing yards per game.

The team also got some help courtesy of Brayden Graceffa, who rushed for 11 yards and one score. His passing game has become a key predictor of Monroe's success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 2-3 otherwise.

Monroe didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. Jeremiah Alexander picked up that interception and then proceeded to rub salt in the wound by taking it back the other way for a touchdown. He got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Monroe's record now sits at 5-3. As for Mount Pleasant, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 6-3.

Coming up, Monroe will be playing at home against Forest Hills at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Yellow Jackets' defense has only allowed 13.8 points per game this season, so the Redhawks' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Mount Pleasant, they will head out to face off against West Stanly at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers are facing the Colts at the right time seeing as the Colts are stuck on a six-game losing streak.
