Basketball Recap: Roosevelt Comes Up Short

Roosevelt played a tough game on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 94-58 loss at the hands of the San Joaquin Memorial Panthers. The Rough Riders were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 59-26.

Despite the loss, Roosevelt still got an impressive performance from Cobi Posas, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and 12 boards. Posas is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down nine or more in each of the last 20 games he's played. Gino Maldanado was another key player, putting up 11 points.

This is the second loss in a row for Roosevelt and nudges their season record down to 8-17. Those defeats can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.0 points over those games. As for San Joaquin Memorial, their win bumped their record up to 21-5.

Looking ahead, Roosevelt will face off against Bullard at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Rough Riders will need to watch out since the Knights have now posted at least 55 points in their last three matchups. As for San Joaquin Memorial, they will square off against Hoover at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Panthers' defense better be ready for this one: the Patriots have averaged an impressive 65.4 points per game this season.
