Soccer Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Sylmar

With a playoff win on the line, Sylmar rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They came out on top against Huntington Park by a score of 3-1. Given Sylmar's advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 312th in California, while Huntington Park is ranked 661st in California), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Sylmar used a slightly different lineup for their bout with Huntington Park. Three players hit the pitch for the first time this season: Natalya Beltran, Kasandra Beltran, and Brianna Avina. Avina made the most of the opportunity, scoring a goal A few more games like that and she might be seeing even more time going forward.
