Basketball Recap: Portola Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Portola can now relate to. They took a 55-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Monache Marauders on Saturday.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Monache to victory, but perhaps none more so than Shelley Andrade, who almost dropped a double-double with 16 points and nine boards. Andrade has been hot recently, having posted nine or more rebounds the last three times she's played. Milly Rojas was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with 16 points and nine boards.

Portola's loss dropped their record down to 19-16. As for Monache, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-8 record this season.

Portola does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Monache, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Rancho Bernardo at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Monache is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.6 points per game this season.
