Softball Recap: St. Francis Takes a Loss

St. Francis was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 16-8 to the Mount Vernon Mustangs. Unfortunately, that's the fourth time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, with their most recent defeat being a 8-7 loss on Wednesday.

Shayla Leguin 2027 was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those RBI marked the first that she has brought in this season. Another player making a difference was Makenzie Phipps 2026, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

St. Francis' defeat dropped their record down to 12-12. As for Mount Vernon, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 22-6.

As of now, neither St. Francis nor the Mustangs have any future games scheduled.
