Baseball Game Preview: North Central Eagles vs. Bryan Golden Bears

The North Central Eagles are taking a road trip to square off against the Bryan Golden Bears at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. North Central's pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so Bryan's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

While North Central's win against Pettisville wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Eagles had just enough and edged out the Blackbirds 3-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.

Jackson Poynter spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up eight Ks.

On the hitting side, North Central saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Garrett Shockley, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Bryan, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They blew past Napoleon 7-1 on Wednesday. The Golden Bears not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since May 7th (when they won 9-1).

North Central's record is now 13-7. As for Bryan, their record now sits at 15-10.
