Basketball Recap: Sanger Takes a Loss

Sanger lost against Sierra back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Sanger Apaches opened the new year with a less-than-successful 53-42 defeat to the Sierra Chieftains.

Despite the loss, Sanger still got an impressive performance from Sofia Aguilar, who went 11 for 21 on her way to 24 points in addition to five rebounds and five steals. The game was Aguilar's third in a row with at least ten points.

Sanger's loss dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Sierra, their victory was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-5.

Sanger has already played their next matchup, a 54-46 win against Ridgeview on the 7th. As for Sierra, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 57-35 defeat against Arroyo Grande on the 6th.
