Softball Recap: Duchesne/Roncalli vs. Elkhorn North Wolves

Duchesne/Roncalli extended their losing streak to nine on Tuesday, dropping them down to 9-15. They came up short against the Elkhorn North Wolves, falling 9-3. Duchesne/Roncalli was not able to make up for their defeat to Elkhorn North from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

Londyn Scebold was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run. Jeanette Becker also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

As for Elkhorn North, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 14-7. The result was nothing new for the Wolves, who have now won ten matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

On Elkhorn North's side, Lauren Jardine made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off two hits. That's the most strikeouts Jardine has posted since September 5th. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Kelsey Daubert and Peyton Johnson did most of the damage at the plate: Daubert went 2-for-4 with one home run and four RBI, while Johnson went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Those four hits gave Johnson a new career-high. Delaney Phalen was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs.
