Baseball Game Preview: Algoma Wolves vs. Wrightstown Tigers

The Algoma Wolves will head out on the road to take on the Wrightstown Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Algoma will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Algoma and Southern Door meet (six straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Tuesday. The Wolves walked away with a 4-1 win over the Eagles.

Jacob Massey spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up six Ks. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Algoma is 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 6-11 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Algoma's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Cayden Neuzil, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Wrightstown suffered their closest defeat since May 29, 2025 on Monday. They fell just short of Little Chute by a score of 3-1. The loss continues a trend for the Tigers in their meetings with the Mustangs: they've now lost five in a row.

Mason Vande Hey made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run. That home run was his first of the season.

Wrightstown's defeat dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Algoma, their win bumped their record up to 9-12.
