Basketball Recap: Loyalton Gets Big Win over Higher-Ranked Sierra Lutheran

Loyalton won the last time they faced Sierra Lutheran and things went their way on Monday too. The Loyalton Grizzlies walked away with a 41-29 victory over the Sierra Lutheran Falcons. The win was all the more spectacular given the Grizzlies' disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 917th in California, while the Falcons are ranked 97th in Nevada).

Catherine Petterson continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, putting up 19 points and three blocks. Another player making a difference was Mollie Griffin, who posted 11 points.

Loyalton's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-8. As for Sierra Lutheran, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-17.

Loyalton has already played their next match, a 58-33 win against Paradise Adventist Academy on the 11th. Sierra Lutheran does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
