Baseball Game Preview: Landmark Christian War Eagles vs. Wesleyan Wolves

Landmark Christian is 0-3 against Wesleyan since April of 2018 but things could change on Tuesday. The War Eagles will look to defend their home field against the Wolves at 5:30 p.m. Landmark Christian is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.

Landmark Christian easily dispatched St. Francis two weeks ago, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The War Eagles fell just short of Pace Academy by a score of 5-3 on Thursday.

Landmark Christian saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Payton Gunn, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Wesleyan unfortunately witnessed the end of their eight-game winning streak on Monday. They fell 6-2 to Mount Paran Christian.

Landmark Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Wesleyan, their loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 11-1 and their overall record down to 16-6.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Landmark Christian has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Wesleyan struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Landmark Christian might still be hurting after the 11-0 defeat they got from Wesleyan when the teams last played back in March of 2020. Can the War Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
