Soccer Game Preview: Lassiter vs. Riverwood

The Lassiter Trojans will head out on the road to square off against the Riverwood Raiders at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lassiter will be strutting in after a win while Riverwood will be coming in after a loss.

Lassiter had to skate by with only a one-goal margin when they last took the pitch, which might have inspired the three-goal drubbing they dealt Kennesaw Mountain on Tuesday. The Trojans put the hurt on the Mustangs with a sharp 3-0 victory. The result was nothing new for Lassiter, who have now won five matchups by three goals or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Riverwood didn't have quite enough to beat Sequoyah on Tuesday and fell 2-1.

The win was the third in a row for Lassiter, bringing their record up to 11-2. As for Riverwood, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-8 record this season.

Lassiter came out on top in a nail-biter against Riverwood in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, sneaking past 2-1. Will the Trojans repeat their success, or do the Raiders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
