Basketball Recap: Ramona Extends Road Winning Streak to Six

After only 24 points in their last game, Ramona made sure to put some points up on the board against Patriot on Tuesday. The Ramona Rams were the clear victor by a 67-43 margin over the Patriot Warriors. The Rams have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 matches by 20 points or more this season.

Ramona got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jaiden Tibbels out in front who went 11 of 22 on her way to 29 points in addition to seven boards and four steals. The dominant performance gave Tibbels a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Diana Najera, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 17 steals.

Ramona was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Laela Perez, who went 7 for 12 en route to 18 points and eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayla Gonzalez, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine steals.

Ramona's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-4. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 23.7 points per game. As for Patriot, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 12-11.

Ramona wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 66-16 victory against La Sierra on the 23rd. Patriot has also already played their next game, a 63-23 win against Norte Vista on the 23rd.
