Softball Recap: Heritage Comes Up Short

Heritage managed to slip by Windsor Academy the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Hawks lost 11-3 to the Knights on Tuesday. The Hawks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Knights apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Baylie Arrington was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in two of her three plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run. Kaylee Cotten also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Heritage's loss dropped their record down to 2-2-1. As for Windsor Academy, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Heritage will challenge St. Anne-Pacelli at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Hawks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Vikings have averaged an impressive 9.1 runs per game this season. As for Windsor Academy, they will square off against Gatewood at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Knights' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Gators have averaged an impressive 10.8 runs per game this season.
