Softball Recap: Harris County Snags 18th Victory in Last 19 Games

It's playoff time, and Harris County had no trouble coming through when it counted. They blew past the Wayne County Yellow Jackets 9-1 on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won 23 contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Riley Huckaby was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Huckaby was also solid in the batter's box, getting four hits from her four at bats. Those four hits gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Harper Horton was incredible, firing off two home runs and three RBI while going 3-for-3. That's the most hits she has posted since back in August. The team also got some help courtesy of Miller Daniel, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one triple.

Harris County lost a few balls and finished the game with four home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Harris County is on a roll lately: they've won 18 of their last 19 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 32-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Wayne County, their loss dropped their record down to 26-9.

As of now, neither Harris County nor the Yellow Jackets have any future games scheduled.
