Baseball Recap: McDonough Takes a Loss

McDonough was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 13th straight defeat. They lost 25-3 to the Jones County Greyhounds. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Greyhounds this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 17-2 last Wednesday.

McDonough saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Joshua Lee, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-1. The Warhawks are 2-1 when Lee posts two or more stolen bases, but 1-14 otherwise.

McDonough's loss dropped their record down to 3-15. As for Jones County, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 18-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. McDonough will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Union Grove at 6:00 p.m. on the 14th. As for Jones County, they will welcome Luella at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
