Volleyball Recap: Lexi Vanderlei and Jordyn Voigt Secure Win for Avon

Avon's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. Everything went their way against the Menno Wolves as they made off with a 3-0 victory. The Pirates were shut out 3-0 the last time they took on the Wolves, so the Pirates were just returning the favor.

Avon not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Menno between 18 and 19 points across their sets. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-19, 25-18.

Avon was led to victory by Jordyn Voigt and Lexi Vanderlei. Voigt had nine digs and four aces, while Vanderlei had six digs. That's the most aces Voigt has posted over her last nine contests. Raegan Brandt also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.

They weren't the only good servers: Avon was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 16 aces. They are a perfect 5-0 when they serve at least ten aces.

With the win, Avon broke their three-match losing streak and moved their record to 13-9. As for Menno, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-22.

Avon wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Viborg/Hurley on the 14th. Menno has also already played their next match (against Hanson), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
