Softball Recap: Oilton Comes Up Short

Oilton dropped to 16-12-1 on Tuesday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins on the road. They came up short against the Kellyville Ponies, falling 10-2. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Panthers, who until this game were averaging 4.07 runs allowed.

Oilton saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Keylee James, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run.

As for Kellyville, they pushed their record up to 17-10 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The result was nothing new for the Ponies, who have now won 11 matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

On Kellyville's side, Hannah Huffman looked comfortable as she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Huffman has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Kellyville got a massive performance out of Lizzie Critser, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Liz Waltrip, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

As of now, neither Oilton nor Kellyville have any future games scheduled.
