Minneapolis City recap Oct. 3, 2012

Washburn's Raymonte Maynard recorded the longest rushing play in Minneapolis City this season in his game against Henry/West Metro last week. Maynard scampered for 96 yards on the play and finished with 209 on the day as his team bested the Patriots.

Minneapolis Southwest took down Edison 60-6 last week, the largest margin of any game. DeAnthony McKinley ran for 109 yards in the win.

Washburn's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Morley Mathewson threw for 72 and two touchdowns and Noah Scarver had 39 yards receiving. Jason Williams helped Washburn's passing attack out by catching one ball for 25 yards.

Washburn's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Millers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Mathewson has thrown for 570 yards and 12 touchdowns this season, while Scarver has 19 catches for 269 yards. Maynard leads the league in rushing with 586 yards.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Lakers take on Minneapolis South. At the moment, Minneapolis Southwest is in second, while the Tigers are in third.

John Biezuns's team led Minneapolis City in scoring this week after putting up 60 points on the Tommies. McKinley in the win.
