Softball Recap: Lambert Beats South Forsyth for Their Third Straight Victory

Lambert entered their tilt with South Forsyth on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They put the hurt on the War Eagles with a sharp 9-1 victory. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 14-0 victory on Tuesday.

Faith Doolen made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over six innings pitched. Those seven strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI.

In other batting news, Katia Castillo was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in August. Another player making a difference was Payton Yi, who went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Lambert was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .448. They are 7-3 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Lambert's win bumped their record up to 11-9. As for South Forsyth, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-16.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lambert will square off against Hebron Christian at 5:00 p.m. on the 26th. As for South Forsyth, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Mountain View at 5:30 p.m. on the 29th.
