Basketball Game Preview: Del Mar Dons vs. Saratoga Falcons

The Del Mar Dons will take on the Saratoga Falcons in a tournament on Monday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Del Mar's tournament run continued when they took on Santa Teresa on Saturday. Del Mar was outmatched by Santa Teresa and fell 60-32. The Dons haven't had much luck with the Saints recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Despite the loss, Del Mar got top-tier performance from Zoey Hinkle, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 13 boards. That was a full 59.4% of Del Mar's points, marking the fifth time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points. Mailey Japlit was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Meanwhile, Saratoga unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Saturday. They came up short against Mountain View, falling 47-22. The contest marked the Falcons' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Saratoga's defeat dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Del Mar, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5.

Del Mar lost to Saratoga at home by a decisive 41-27 margin when the teams last played on December 14th. Can Del Mar avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
