Basketball Recap: Ridgeview Comes Up Short

Ridgeview's last matchup with Frontier could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's matchup on Thursday. The Wolf Pack came up short against the Titans, falling 67-42. The Wolf Pack were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-18.

When it comes to explaining why Ridgeview lost, don't look at Victoria Smith-Chaplin. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double with ten points and 14 boards. Smith-Chaplin is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Gabriella Ruiz-Romero, who posted seven points along with five rebounds and four steals.

Frontier's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nyeema Armstrong, who almost dropped a triple-double with 11 points, 12 boards, and nine steals. The Titans are undefeated when Armstrong posts three or more steals, but 1-2 otherwise. Megan Ogle also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Ridgeview now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Frontier, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-2.

Coming up, Ridgeview will square off against Sanger at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Frontier, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 51-49 win against Lancaster on the 6th.
