Florida high school football: Anthony Barbar of Westminster Academy leads state passing yardage leaders

Senior signal caller threw for 757 yards and totaled seven touchdowns in his first two games of the season.

According to statistics submitted to MaxPreps, senior Anthony Barbar of Westminster Academy (Fort Lauderdale) leads Florida high school football in passing yardage. See the complete list of the top 50 passers in the state below.

Barbar has thrown for 1,025 yards and helped the Lions to a 4-0 record. Against Lake Highland Prep (Orlando) on Aug. 25, the signal caller put up 381 yards and four touchdowns in a 41-2 victory.

Sophomore Brady Hart of Cocoa is second with 1,024 passing yards. He topped the 400-yard mark in two of three games this season.

Freshman Zac Katz of True North Classical Academy (Miami) is in the state's top 20 with 776 passing yards. The first-year signal caller has completed 85.7 percent of his passes for the 3-0 Titans.
